Open Pollinated, Heirloom & Homestead SeedsOur seeds are especially adapted for Northern Gardens!Good Seed VegetablesOur main trial gardens are located in the Okanogan Highlands of North Central Washington, at 3000 feet in elevation. We develop and select seeds for the extremes of weather that are common in this region. We also select for flavor, disease resistance and other desirable attributes. See our discussion of Gourmet Gardening. HEIRLOOM VARIETIESMany of our seeds are heirloom varieties. These are older, increasingly rare strains which have distinct characteristics. They have definitely been proven over time and are becoming increasingly popular among home gardeners. LEAF VEGGIESPlant a few varieties of leaf vegetables for your own garden-grown, nature's own, vitamin and mineral supply of potassium, vitamins A & K (see The Secret of Greens). SEED SOAKINGSoak large seeds in a seaweed solution over night for better germination: 1 Tbsp. seed per 1 gallon of warm water. Seeds such as squash, melons, peas, beans, and corn will reward you with swift germination if you take the time to pamper them.
